Optimal burn guide

To establish a full burn pool and prevent tunnelling, we recommend:

1. First burn: 2 hours
2. Second burn: 4 hours
3. Ongoing burns: Allow at least 3 hours each time you light your candle

Once the burn pool forms, your candle will glow beautifully and maintain its elegant form until the wick gently falls over at the base.

How to burn your beeswax candles

Until we began handcrafting beeswax candles, we never realised how much difference proper burning makes — perhaps you’re the same.

Because beeswax is a precious gift from the bees, we encourage mindful burning. Learning the right burn technique not only prevents tunnelling but also extends the life and brilliance of your candle.

For medium pillar candles (7.5cm diameter)

To prevent tunnelling, burn your medium pillar for 2 hours on the first burn, then 4 hours on the second. For all subsequent burns, enjoy it for 3 hours or more. Once the wax pool forms, your candle will shine brighter and longer.

For mini, beehive, and taper candles

Smaller beeswax candles such as mini pillars, beehives, and tapers have slightly different care. Mini pillars should be burned for at least one hour each use; beehive and dinner tapers can be burned freely, ensuring the wick is trimmed to 6mm before lighting.

Wick care

• After extinguishing, dip the wick into the melted wax pool and stand it upright to prepare for your next burn.
• Trim the wick to 6mm before each use. If you notice a small “mushroom top”, simply pinch it off.
• Keep candles out of direct breeze for an even, steady flame.

Safety first

• Burn on a stable, heat-resistant, non-flammable surface.
• Never leave a burning candle unattended.
• Keep away from children, pets, and flammable materials.
• Allow melted wax to cool before handling.
